BALTIC MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (BMDA)

Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA), established by the end of 2002, was the initiative of universities and business schools as well as individuals - professors of management sciences and business professionals from the Baltic countries. Although being young BMDA currently joins forty members from 12 countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, Russia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland and Georgia and successfully develops and expands further implementing ambitious plans, objectives and ideas met by large interest, demand and response in a whole Baltic Sea region.
While taking the first steps to the peak of modern, dynamic and networking Baltic management alliance, BMDA invites you to make a brief acquaintance of it and encourages you to join either as a participant of special events, or stakeholder and partner of its activities and chiefly as a new member of the Baltic Management Development Association – to take every other step together.
BMDA founders are universities and business schools from the Baltic countries:

• International School of Management (ISM), Lithuania;
• Estonian Business School Group Ltd., Estonia;
• Banking Institution of Higher Education, Latvia;
• As well as individuals - professors of management sciences and
professionals from the business community.
BMDA mission:
To develop management as a science and profession, promoting high professional and educational standards and their understanding in the Baltic region.
BMDA Objectives:
• to promote understanding of modern management, and to promote the development and coordination of legislative acts on a national, regional and international scale;
• to promote high education standards in management education;
• to develop methods of management education and research and to facilitate their application;
• to promote cooperation between the academic and the business environment in the area of management;
• to promote the exchange of opinions, the harmonization of terminology, the development of concepts and the usage of relevant literature in the area of management;
• to organize conferences, seminars and other events on current management issues;
• to carry out a purposeful popularisation of management profession and management education by involving mass media and disseminating informative literature;
• to represent Association members and their professional interests in public institutions;
• to act as a discussion forum for Association members, promoting the exchange of academic and professional information and knowledge;
• to promote the professional development of young management educators and professionals;
• to establish and coordinate contacts with national and international management associations in foreign countries.

BMDA membership:
Association members can be institutions, academics and professionals from the business community in the area of business and public administration as well as corporate members, representing Baltic Sea region or stakeholders from other countries, who agree to the goals of Association:

Institutional membership

Institutional membership is for Baltic Sea region universities and business schools, executive development centers, training consultancies and other organizations actively involved in management development. It is also for educational establishments outside the Baltic Sea region who are the stakeholders in promoting the management development in the Region.
Annual Fee 600 EUR

Corporate membership

Corporate membership is for companies interested in business and management education development in Baltic Region and willing to support BMDA activities.
Annual Fee 1200 EUR

Associate membership

Associate membership is for newly formed educational establishments in the area of business and management, which have not been in existence for a sufficient period. Associate members are accepted for a maximum period of two years, after which they will be considered for full membership.
Annual Fee 300 EUR

Individual Membership

Individual membership is for individuals who are reputable academics in the area of business and management education as well as business professionals having a keen interest in management development and willing to contribute to the Association.
