CLADEA Latin American Council of Management Schools

CLADEA (Latin American Council of Management Schools), the Association of Latin America’s leading management schools, concerned with teaching and research in both business and public administration. Currently Cladea has more than 100 affiliated institutions, both private and public, from Latin America, North America and Europe.


CLADEA provides a network for interaction and cooperation among affiliated management schools and institutions at international level, among directors and academic staff from different countries and areas of interest, promoting research, case development and bibliographical support. Created for the purpose of furthering the advancement of professional management, Cladea has been active, for a continuous period of over 30 years.


Also, the institution maintains reciprocal membership with the main academic networks in the world. This enables Cladea to have an open communication in diverse academic activities and to provide certification of excellence and potential academic progress of its participating members.


Cladea runs a range of specialized workshops and seminars, and publisher the academic journal “Latin American Business Administration Journal” and a quarterly newsletter. Cladea is in charge of maintaining databases of institutions, academics and researchers as well fostering closer ties between all schools of Business. This constant search for excellence in the academic arena is expressly shown in Cladea’s annual meeting.


The Assembly of members is Cladea’s highest governing body; it meets once a year, to discuss issues and make decisions on academic and administrative matters.


CLADEA is about forty years old now. It was founded in Lima in 1967 and it is one of the most important business networks all over the world.
This international organization was created to solve some of the most important problems of Latin American societies through the Teaching of Management and Business Management.
CLADEA’s members constitute an Assembly which includes High Level Education Institutions devoted to Teaching and Research on Public and Private Administration.


OBJECTIVES


• To expand, assist and promote research into the area of teaching Business.
• To make the field of Management well-known among social and economic Latin American organizations.
• To develop cooperation systems at the international level between directors and scholars from different countries and areas of interest by promoting research, case studies development and bibliographic support.
• To hold reciprocal membership links with the main world academic networks; thus CLADEA represents a reciprocal means of communication within the discipline all over the world.
• To provide through its membership a certification of quality and potential academic development .
• To provide technical aid to organisms involved in the development of Latin America.
• To support the Information and Resource Centres from CLADEA’s Resource Centre.
• To design materials for the teaching of Management using the material available from School members as well as to publish books, journals and any other source of research and didactic material.
• To facilitate communication among members of local and international related institutions involved in Management.
• To organize seminars and other international events to favor the Exchange of information and Solutions for specific problems in Latin America.
