Vice Rector for Development at Bocconi  University, where he’s Professor of Operations Management at the Department of Management and Technology. He is also Professor at the Technology and Production Unit of SDA Bocconi School of Management, where he was Dean until 2012. His areas of expertise include Operations Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Operations Performance Measurement. 

Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management (UK), he has published a number of books and articles in academic and professional journals. He is also Board Member of many Scientific and Academic Advisory Boards of national and international Institutions and research centres; among the others, EFMD – European Foundation for Management Development, EABIS – European Association for Business in Society, BCFN – Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition.
