Francesco Mantovani

Francesco Mantovani is Senior Vice President HR Development and Education in Finmeccanica Group.
He has been with Finmeccanica since 2004 and he is responsible for ensuring the definition and development of the Group’s managerial system, its integrated cultural and training system, knowledge management processes, all at an international level.

Prior to joining Finmeccanica, Mr Mantovani was in charge of training and educational activities for the Telecom Italia Group (Telecom Italia Learning Services). He was responsible for providing solutions and services to support the development of staff members’ skills and professional identities, especially aspects pertaining to the system of professional families and the Group’s managerial model (2002-2003).
From 2000 to 2002 he headed Telecom Italia’s HR Development Department and was responsible for the areas of Selection, Organisational Development, Training, HR Development and In-house Communication. 
From 1995 to 2000, as the head of TIM’s HR Planning, Management and Development Department, he was a key player in the company’s start up. 
From 1994 to 1995, as the head of the International Division of Telecom Italia’s HR Management Department, he took part in integrating the different Italian telephone companies. 
From 1984 to 1994, working at Italcable, he was Head of Personnel and of the International Service Production Centres in Milan, Rome and Palermo, and later also Head of Department for Human Resource Planning for all the Group.    
From 1978 to 1984, he was the head of Personnel at the Pomezia factory of Zanussi.   
He graduated from Rome’s La Sapienza University with a degree in law.
In 2013 he was appointed Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association in New York.
He’s Vice President of the Quacing-Eurace Agency.
In 2005 he was nominated “Commendatore” of the Italian Republic by President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. In 2014 he was appointed Master of Labour.
